Chicago Families Traumatized as ICE Agents Drag Children Out and Ransack Residences

Federal ICE agents raided a Chicago apartment complex on Tuesday night, breaking down doors, ransacking homes, and dragging residents including children into U Haul vans just hours after Donald Trump suggested using U.S. cities as “training grounds” for soldiers.

Residents reported being zip-tied, detained without warrants, and denied access to lawyers, with witnesses describing children being taken outside half-dressed while families’ personal belongings were destroyed or scattered.

Neighbors and tenants said the raid left homes in disarray, with birth certificates, papers, electronics, and furniture missing or damaged, while police provided no answers about lost property.

The Department of Homeland Security claimed 37 people were arrested, linking them to drugs, weapons, and immigration violations, but residents described the operation as feeling like a military invasion.
